Pair trawling in the sea bream breeding grounds off the coast of Bognor Regis and Littlehampton during the breeding season is decimating the future fish stock because the netting takes in juvenile fish that are undersize and, when returned, they die. Also, and just as disastrous, is the breaking up of the rocky ground in which the bream spawn by the huge metal bars that are at the base of the trawl nets.
THE LAW NEEDS TO BE CHANGED!
Write to the address below asking for the law to be changed to ban pair trawling within a six-mile limit.
